Building number 2 in OperaKvarteret, right east to the PwC building, is a combination building. In addition to being the HQ of the company KLP, it houses 53 apartments.
The ground floor will make room for main entrance and reception of KLP, together with space for shops and restaurants. The shape of the actual building is special; it ranges from 8 to 18 floors and measures a total of 31,700 square meters above ground. There is also more than 6,000 square meters of space below ground on two basement levels with parking and storage rooms.
The building itself consists of two long, slim lamellas only separated by a glass plate. In the midst of the building, this glass plate is expanded into a large glass area that brings daylight to other parts of the building. The light-reflected area is spread out to 6 floors and transforms into the main core of the offices.
