The new HQ of the company PriceWaterhouseCoopers – the PwC building – marks the beginning of OperaKvarteret in Oslo.
The architect group a-lab has conceived the project, which will be the western façade connecting the new district to other central parts of town. With direct access from Oslo Central station, the building plays an important role in linking existing parts of Oslo together with the newly developed area. The main architectural themes of the new district are light, openness and sophisticated technology within the frame of simple shapes.
The glass façade will ensure a multitude of different expressions, all depending on the time of the day, time of the year, indoor activity in the building, observation range, angles and weather conditions. The larger spaces of glass fronts render optimal visibility, good daytime lighting conditions and a comfortable indoor environment all year through thanks to use of modern sustainable technology.
