The Oslo fjord is a unique and important part of Oslo. Altogether, there will be seven commons in Bjørvika. These public places will contribute in creating open connections to existing city districts, through the new district currently under development, but also down to the waterfront promenade and the fjord.
The promenade will be reserved for pedestrians and will have a varied course through the district. The commons will offer the possibility to enjoy all kinds of social life and recreation, and also activities directed towards the public. One of the first commons to be finalized is the Station commons. It will traverse Dronning Eufemia Street and run through OperaKvarteret and Oslo Central station, hence connecting the city centre with the both Opera Quarter and the sea.
